Harbour Maintenance
For over 100 years, the Toronto Port Authority (TPA) has worked with the waterfront community to keep the Port and Harbour of Toronto clean and free of debris, harmful material and spills. Mandated, under the Canada Marine Act, to keep Toronto’s waterways safe and navigable, we’re committed to making sure that everyone can enjoy the waters of Lake Ontario that surround Toronto.
Every year, the TPA clears hundreds of metric tonnes of silt and debris and we work with the City of Toronto, Ontario Ministry of Environment, Spills Action Centre and port users on all environmental issues.
