Our Environment
The Outer Harbour Marina (OHM) is one of the largest public, fresh water marinas in Ontario and we are Clean Marine certified. We have a 5 Green Anchor Gold rating from the Ontario Marine Operators’ Association (OMOA). This is one of the highest ranking a marina can attain and shows that the OHM adheres to environmental best practices. Outer Harbour Marina is one of the few marinas in Ontario with this rating.
The OMOA’s Clean Marine Program was formed by over 20 marine industry professionals and Ontario’s boaters and anglers’ associations to establish environmental best practices for the industry.
The OHM has modern, energy-conserving controls and sensors, a boaters’ education campaign to educate them on the need for proper equipment maintenance, and we have cut HVAC use in the OHM office.
The OHM’s success is a reflection of the Toronto Port Authority’s mandate to keep Toronto Harbour clean and its environmental strategy to reduce energy costs, protect natural habitats and promote the use of renewable resources.
